Eight years ago, in 2005, I was presented with an exclusive gold record, saying my songs had participated in sales of more than 100 million records worldwide.
In connection to this special event, I sat down with a music journalist and discussed my career that far. We talked about songwriting, Simon Cowell, Westlife, Pop Idol and the winning song I co-wrote for the first American Idol, Kelly Clarkson.
In 2010, I co-founded the publishing company Perfect Storm Music Group. Just a couple of months later, I signed Ali Tamposi, a geniously super talented songwriter. We’ve now worked together for two years, and Ali always proves that she has a rare gift. I’m very proud of her!
Less than two weeks ago, on February 10, Kelly Clarkson won a GRAMMY Award for Best Pop Vocal Album with ”Stronger”. The title track, ”Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)”, nominated for Song of the Year, I wrote together with Ali, David Gamson and Greg Kurstin.

Today Billboard unveiled its annual Best of Hot 100 List. ”Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” with Kelly Clarkson was in 2012 the 7th most popular song in the US across all genres. The list is based on rankings by radio airplay audience impressions, sales data and streaming activity data.
I wrote this song together with Ali Tamposi, David Gamson and Greg Kurstin. Congratulations to us all! And of course, thanks to all you listeners for this high ranking!

One of my co-written songs, ”Splendida”, is included on the Italian vocal trio Il Volo’s next album, ”We Are Love”. It is released in the US in November.
Il Volo’s self-titled debut album, the international edition, came out in April 2011. It debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200 Chart and at #1 on the Classical Albums. So, I am really excited.
